Juniors get head start on future

Junior Shyanne Ericson is one of Greeley West’s hard working early graduates. Most students at West wait their turn to get their diploma handed to them as seniors, but Ericson chose a different path.

Ericson wanted to graduate early because she wanted to get out of the house and start her career as soon as possible. She plans on going to Aims Community College to get her CBA and then transferring into pediatric nursing.

Taking a full schedule may have been difficult, but passing those classes and having support from her counselor contributed to Ericson’s success.

As a sophomore, she had all the credits that a sophomore needed and finished the rest of her credits in her junior year, allowing her to be a 11th grader graduating.

Many early graduates plan on going to college and getting a head start on a profession. Ericson said, “I’m super excited to leave high school drama behind, but nervous to start my life and career.”
