Trick or Treat Street spooks community

Trick or Treat Street, an annual event put on by Greeley West’s Student Council, was held last Friday from 5-7 p.m. This event has been going on at Greeley West for over 15 years now, and is another way for children to get candy before the actual night of Halloween.

Every year, the Art Club decorates a room for the kids to walk through and get candy. This year, the Art Club students decorated a hallway. The hallway was transformed into a maze split up into different Tim Burton movies. The four movies used were Alice in Wonderland, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach, and the Corpse Bride.

Language arts teacher, Ms. Kimberly Fisher, decorated her room and set up games including, “Tricky Tac-Toe” “Tricky Tin Toss” “Cup Mix-up” and “Photo ‘Booth.” Next to the photo booth was a big inflatable ghost. “It is fun to see all the little kids and grown up kids in their costumes. It is nice also nice knowing we are doing something fun in the community,” Fisher stated.

The classrooms were used as doors to different houses. Each door had a different theme that the students got to experience.
Hundreds of students enjoyed this festivity once again, and it was a great way to get the Greeley West High School staff involved with their students and community.
