On Monday, Greeley West is sending representatives to the District Leadership Conference for FFA on Agricultural Opportunities and leadership. Kiara Johnson is one of the officers who is returning to conference for the second year in a row in hopes to make it to state with the public speaking opportunities. After winning silver last year, she feels ready to take on the competition with hopes of taking the club to state.

The rest of the students going on the trip are participating in the workshops. They will be taught about the Agricultural skills in a variety of environments from lecture style to hands on. A couple of the workshops from last year included Water Shed, Horse Judging, Dairy Judging. The students will be sharply dressed in the traditional uniform for FFA.

“It’s always nice to have conferences and workshops. Getting students into Ag in general is good, because many of these skills will be based in real life,” said Johnson. “Public Speaking personally made me more confident, and I can’t wait until this conference.”
