A Greeley West Tradition; WestFest Jazz & Deserts Night, the annual fall showcase of music performing arts was held on Saturday night.

The dance and desserts event was located at the Moose Lodge in Evans. Performing arts groups sold adult tickets for ten dollars so that they can afford  upcoming trips and competitions.

The first half of the show consisted of performers from Greeley West getting to show off the first semester of work. Jazz band, the Chamber Orchestra, and Spartones performed a selection of pieces including folk, jazz, and the upcoming holiday season.

The second half featured the band Kreme of the Krop playing jazz that participants could dance to.  Desserts were provided by band student families and were free.

“It’s always exciting for the students. It’s a fun event to raise funds, and listen to big band music,” said band director Mr. Chet Arthur.

In addition to the profit from event tickets, the performing arts programs also made money on silent auction.
