With Prom days away,  it’s good to look back and see how the couples who will be in attendance connected for the date. Promposals have become the rage, and West had its fair share again this year.

Senior Samuel Diaz, asked his girlfriend to Prom through a Promposal.  Diaz made an ice-cream shaped poster asking “you like ice cream, I like ice cream, PROM?” It wasn’t meant to make sense to anybody, but it made for a great photo opportunity.  “I think Promposals are really creative and should continue because it is a way to impress someone even though it is just asking them to go to a school dance,” Diaz said.

Senior Conor Citrino went a little bigger than Diaz did for his Promposal.  Citrino asked junior Bryana Martinez on Thursday via the ship on the stage during IB Theater class.  He asked her, “Bry, will you sail away to Prom with me?”

Senior Conor Citrino’s favorite part of asking someone to Prom is finding unique and fun ways to ask. In Citrino’s opinion Promposals should not be stressful and difficult to do, but instead should be fun and different. “When asking somone to Prom it shouldn’t be stressful it should be light and easy but also something exciting and different.”

Even students who don’t get asked via a Promposal have fun with the experience.  Senior Elise Johnson will be attending Prom for a third time at West. Johnson’s favorite part about Prom besides dressing fancy is watching the creative ways people get asked to Prom. “I really like to see couples who have been together for a long time getting asked and seeing how the guy is going to ask her this year. It’s just really cute and a fun tradition for everyone even if you personally don’t get asked,” Johnson stated.

The theme for Prom this year at Greeley West is Tinseltown and Prom will be held at Zoe’s Café. Tickets are on sale during lunch for $25.
