With assistant principal Dr. Suzette Luster assistant principal leaving Greeley West to be principal of Franklin Middle School, Greeley West principal Jeff Cranson has recently sent out an email to the Greeley West community to announce the news of hiring a new assistant principal to take her place.

Mr. Aaron Allen will be taking over the position. Allen has had a lot of experience as he was an assistant principal, dean of students, music teacher, and school counselor at a school in Colorado Springs.

He has also taught English to students in Fujiwara, Japan for two years and is currently living in Beijing, China with his family where he is a school counselor.

Before doing all his teaching, Allen got his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Education and Composition from the University of Dayton located in Ohio, along with a Master of Science in School Counseling at the University of Phoenix, and a Master of Arts in Educational Administration at Adams State University.

Principal Jeff Cranson said that Mr. Allen blew away the interview team and just knew he was going to be a good fit. Cranson said, “He has a lot of great ideas to help teachers in the classroom.”

Allen is coming from an IB school in China, so he has a lot of knowledge on the MYP and IB programs at West.

Allen is hoping to come to Greeley to meet the students and staff at West on April 30 and May 1. With such an impressive background Allen will hopefully be a great asset to our staff and school.
