Golf tourney raises funds for athletics

On Saturday July 7, Greeley West will hold a golf tournament at Highland Hills Golf Course. The tournament is a fundraiser in which all the money raised goes to Greeley West athletics.

The tournament is an 8 a.m. shotgun start, meaning players will be sent out to a hole and everyone will start at the same time. Lunch is included if you play, and there is a live and silent auction following the tournament that will include a variety of sports memorabilia and local vendor baskets.

The tournament is being organized by P.E. teacher and assistant golf coach Tory Hanson.

The costs for playing in the tournament is $100 for a single golfer who will be placed in a foursome with three other golfers. A foursome costs $400, and the group will all be set to the same whole when the shotgun starts.

If community members are not interested in playing, there is also the option of being a sponsor. Businesses or individuals can sponsor a hole on the course for $100. Six hundred dollars is the cost to become an event sponsor, which includes a 5×5 banner in the school gym for the 2018-19 school year.
