On Tuesday night, eight schools participated in the Northern district Office Installation for FCCLA, including Platte Valley, Loveland High School, Mead, Longmont, Fort Collins, Greeley Central, Northridge and Greeley West. During the induction, twelve district officers, two state officers, and two national officer candidates were installed into the district office of FCCLA. West’s own Myranda Figueroa and Jazmine Perez, juniors, were both inducted as officers as well for their senior year.

Figueroa, who was inducted as vice president of finance, states she is, “excited and happy about becoming officer.” Figueroa will be serving a member for the finance committee and the board of directors. Figueroa is excited about, “working with my friend Jazmine and we are looking forward to accomplish new things for the FCCLA program.”

As officer, students will host and plan the district leadership conference in the coming fall. Over the summer, officers will attend meetings to plan the conference all by themselves. Although the conference is student held, Ms. Brenda Guzman and another teacher from Platte Valley will be consultants for the event. Guzman hopes the conference will be able to be held in Greeley for easier access for her students at West.
