On Saturday May 7, the Greeley West football team helped the Special Olympics put on a power-lifting competition.

There were 12 competitors who competed in this power-lifting competition. The lifters varied in size, and were put in divisions based on their weight.

The football team had four kids show up to help load the bars with weight and take that weight off. Jose Garcia, being one of those volunteers stated, “It was great to be there. I got to volunteer for a sport that I love and also help out some awesome people. As a football player and a part of the Greeley West family, it shows that we are all willing to help out when it is needed.”

The competition started off with squatting, bench pressing, and deadlifting.
