Graduation talent, speeches set for Saturday’s ceremony

On Saturday, the Greeley West High School graduating class of 2018 will celebrate its graduation ceremony. The ceremony is being held at the University of Northern Colorado Nottingham Field at 8 a.m.

At the ceremony, Valedictorian and Salutatorian, Jackson Starkey and Katie Gorsline will be speaking. Starkey had a grade point average of 4.508 (un-finalized) and was number one in the class. Gorsline was number two in the class and had a grade point average of 4.48(un-finalized).

Also at the ceremony, the National Anthem will be sung by Jackson Starkey, Bennett Muller, William Wingfield, Ethan Shepard, Adria Coghlin, Katie Gorsline, Cassie Bradshaw, and Megan Arschott.

Cassie Bradshaw will be singing a song by Carrie Underwood called “Don’t Forget to Remember Me.”

As tradition holds, the seniors pick a teacher to address them.  The teacher speaker is going to be Don Wagner.

Seniors also voted for “Congratulations” by Post Malone as their senior song.

Last, former teacher and school board representative John Haefeli, will accept the class of 2018.
