Senior sells shirts to save bees

Senior Reese Tilton has found a way to mix her love fashion and her desire to participate in a community service activity this year at Greeley West. Tilton is doing this as a representative for the company Tees for Bees.

Tees for Bees is a company founded by Kelly Butler, a mechanical-engineer that quit her day job because she was tired of working for a corporation that didn’t align with her values, and decided to make a company that did. She realized she wanted to explore nature and spend more ofHer time outside. She founded Tees for Bees in 2017 to make a difference on the planet.

The bee population has been declining since the late 1990s. Bees pollinate 80% of all flowering plants, including the crops we eat. She became aware of the declining bee population and realized it revealed a much larger issue, the destructive effects human beings are having on nature as a whole.

“I always loved what they stood for and I wanted to be a part of something that can make a difference in a cute way,” Tilton said.

The company raises awareness to save bees, and Butler teamed up with similar companies to start charities and help bees world-wide.

Tilton teamed up with the company based on similar values and beliefs. “Ultimately, my goal is to save the bee species and become more informed about the subject and get more involved with the company,” said Tilton.

Tilton’s role with the company is to advertise Butler’s clothing line – for both men and women. People interested in buying the product can go to the website, Tsforbees.com, and give Tilton credit by entering her code. That code is REESE. By using this code, buyers qualify for free shipping and discounts store-wide.
