Sidewalk improvements make life easier for students accessing new classrooms

There has been upgrades all over Greeley West High School this year. The new technology, new gym floors and other areas have been worked on to improve the day to day lives of students. One of the most minuscule additions has changed the quality of passing periods.

Many classrooms at GWHS are only accessible from outside or through other rooms. This forces students to travel from class to class by walking the perimeter of the building. Concrete has been put down to replace the former wooden boards covering the hole in the sidewalk. The concrete has been improved outside of the 400 hall and the surrounding modulars. Before this addition the path was less than impressive with makeshift boards covering the gaps in the walkway. This change has been more than needed for the hundreds of students who walk outside throughout the day.

The concrete has made the sidewalk easier to use, but most importantly, more accessible for students.  Assistant Principal Ms. Amy Zulauf said, “We wanted to help everyone with the new sidewalks. It benefits handicapped students and eliminates the need to walk on the grass.”
