FFA begins preparations for holiday plant sale

Hailey Ortega, Staff Writer

Greeley West FFA is having their yearly holiday sale. The pre-sale starts on November 2 and will end on November 16 where you can buy your poinsettia and wreaths just in time for the Christmas season.

Wreaths are hand decorated by the Horticulture classes and then sold for a price starting at $15. If you’re interested in putting a bow on your wreath it’s an extra $20. For a wreath with ornaments, pine cones, and a bow it’s $25. Students are also selling 4.5” poinsettias for $8 and a 6.5” poinsettia for $10. They come in either red, white, pink, and marble.

All money that is made from the sale will go to the student account and fund things like their field trips, leadership development and career opportunities success.

Senior Bobbie Moss has been a part of the Agriculture program here at Greeley West for three years now. Moss said, “Participating in the fundraising for our program has been a fun way to meet new people and show off the amazing things we do in the Agriculture program.”

Moss said she also hopes that the money made from the sale will be used for labs that they do in Agriculture classes 1 and 2.

Anyone interested is able to view any of the items for sale here at Greeley West. If interested in purchasing anything from the sale, contact Ms. Samantha Maxwell or any student involved in the FFA program or horticulture class.
