Members of the Greeley West community united to honor the legacy of former student Connor Gilmore on Monday at St. Mary Church.  Gilmore, a frequent contributor to the Greeley West theater program and a 2015 graduate died on the evening of December 2 in a one-car accident.

Before becoming a Spartan, Gilmore went to St. Mary School.  Many students who attend West are family friends with him.  Junior Ashley Cullen, who grew up very close with him stated, “Connor was a phenomenal friend and brother to his younger siblings.”

Gilmore was an organ donor and was memorialized by North Colorado Medical Center on Tuesday, December 4.  Workers – including doctors, nurses, and other staff – lined the halls and to honor him during the trip from his hospital room to the OR, recognizing the many people whose lives’ will be saved as a result of the donation.

To honor Gilmore’s contributions to West, there is talk of starting a scholarship in his name for students to attend Thescon, an annual theatre trip Denver.
