Students at Greeley West had an opportunity to hear from a local District Attorney during a Business Law class last week.  Mr. Rich Dufault, who teaches business classes at West, invited Mr. Robb Miller to present to his class about law in the community.

Miller, who serves as an assistant DA, is a graduate of Greeley West and posted to his YouTube account vide about returning to his old stomping ground.  In the video, he said, “It’s important for myself and the members of this office to get out to the community.  Personally going to my old high school (was) gratifying.”

Miller talked to Dufault’s class about criminal and civil issues.  Thousands of cases go through Miller’s office each year and he shared stories about his experiences in his job.  Miller has 35 attorneys who work underneath of him processing the many different cases that get submitted to the DA’s office.

“I want them to learn about what the DA or the assistant DA does each day,” Dufault said.  “But I (also) want them to see that they do good in the community.  It doesn’t matter if it’s the defense that’s defending a good person or the plaintiff who is the good person.  They’re going to help the good.”

Miller also talked to students about their grades and why the work that happens in high school is important to their future as potential lawyers.  He said that going to law school requires multiple years of college and it’s important to get a good start at Greeley West.
