Students react to masked learning

After three months of school, students are beginning to feel tired of wearing masks everywhere they go. Students would prefer not to wear masks because of how uncomfortable they feel.

Schools want students to continue to wear masks for their safety and the safety of the community.  However, in many instances, students say the mask is preventing them from getting the learning they should be getting.  Many students complain about this issue and why wearing masks disturbs them so much. “They are very distracting to wear in class and can make you lose focus in class,” said Juan Gorman.

Teachers have countered with mask breaks in some classes for students who need the break, but Joseph Rojas Joseph Rojas said the mask remains a pain. “It’s a bit hard to talk and breathe and can hurt your ears sometimes,” said Joseph Rojas.

On the other hand, other students are glad to be wearing masks because it means they can continue the sports and activities they love. “I feel its for your safety and others  you have to learn to adapt if you want to continue your normal life and what you love doing,” said  Rodney Villegas.
