Name: Alan Fernandez

 Year of High School: 10th

What are you thinking about for your future? I want to go to a 4-year university somewhere in Florida and take some computer science courses and also some graphic design courses because I want to have a career in graphic design. After that I plan on also going into computer science to work with and learn more about computer programming and software and doing edits and all those kinds of things. This might sound like a funny reason, but I want to go to a University in Florida because I remember in 8th grade watching a TV commercial talk about a university in Florida’s computer science and graphic design courses and seeing how hands on it was, I knew then that was a perfect place for me to pursue my studies. I think I also have some family down in Florida so that’ll be cool to be closer to them.

Where I work: I don’t work right now, but I’m planning on getting a job soon.

Daily Routine:  My daily routine is pretty normal, I wake up and get ready for school and attend all my classes throughout the day then I come home and work on whatever homework needs to be done for that day. I’m usually pretty on top of my school work and I’m also pretty good at doing the things I need to do for the day, too. My schedule isn’t super packed; it’s just the right amount of full for me which makes it manageable.

Most essential ritual/habit:  I like to go workout with my dad at least twice a week. He has a gym membership and lets me go with him so why not take advantage of that. It helps me stay in shape but it also gives me some good one-on-one time with my dad which is nice.

Favorite Hobbies: On the weekends, I like to play sports with my friends, we play all kinds of sports like soccer, basketball, football, but my favorite to play with them is soccer. I enjoy hanging out with them for hours, rather it’s at my place or one of their places it’s always a really fun time.

What is your favorite App on your cell phone? Snapchat! It’s the easiest way to connect with all my friends because that’s where we have our group chat. Snapchat also allows me to stay in touch with other friends outside of my normal friend group. I can also use the app to get in contact with classmates to get help with any work I don’t understand and they explain it to me in a way where it helps me to better understand.

Favorite time waster:  Either being on my phone or watching TV are two of the biggest ways I procrastinate. I don’t really look for anything specific to watch, I usually open up YouTube and click on the first video that looks interesting and then it just spirals from there.

Sleep schedule:  I usually go to bed around 9 or 10 p.m. and wake up by 6:30 a.m. I tend to be pretty consistent with this schedule.

How do you know when you have been successful? When I’m keeping up with school and staying on top of my grades, that tells me I’m being successful. Last quarter I had a really tough one, and it made me feel not so good about myself or where I was being in that position. I like maintaining a grade of a C or above in each of my classes.
