As it completed its first year, the Greeley West E-Sports Rocket League team had a successful season and made it all the way to the second round in the playoffs. The Greeley West E-Sports team was coached by Mr. Joel Suarez. The team ended the season with a 5-3 regular season record and was ranked 11th in the state.

After a 5-3 season, their first playoff matchup was against Pinnacle Charter High School who were No. 5 in the state. It was a best out of 7 matchup in which West won in a demanding fashion, 4-0.  In the second round, West went up against Rocky Mountain High and attempted a comeback win. Unfortunately this time around they lost the series 4-2 but did indeed put up a good fight.

Suarez said, “At the start of the season, it was rough because of all the technological and equipment issues but once we got through that part, the season went by good.”

Obviously there are always obstacles in the way but Suarez and his E-Sports team managed to get through just fine.

Senior Saul Rodriguez said, “It was a fun experience for me since I had never done this before. I feel good about our season and of everyone else on the team. We all worked together for this success.”

This was Greeley West’s first  E-Sports Rocket League season and everything was a success. If enough people want to play yearly, it seems like E-Sports is here to stay at Greeley West.
