Colorado sports fans vs. money, greed

The Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche, despite being one of the best teams in the NBA and NHL, can’t air games due to legal issues with Comcast and Dish. The stalemate has been going on for three seasons as the owner of Altitude TV which also happens to be the same family as the owners of the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche have had problems making a deal with Comcast and Dish so that they can air games. It is ridiculous that this problem has been going on for three seasons and it is time for fans of the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche to demand for Altitude TV and Comcast to make a deal so that they can watch their favorite sports teams.

The Denver Nuggets have had their best seasons in recent memory and NBA and Nuggets fans have not been able to watch them play. Nikola Jokic is their best player and currently won MVP for the 2020-21 season and Nuggets fans were not able to watch him as he played and won MVP. If Altitude Sports doesn’t make a new deal with Dish and Comcast, they will lose their edge as more and more people will start to use streaming services and pay for the subscription service to watch their sports teams.

The Colorado Avalanche have also had their best seasons in recent years going to the Stanley Cup Playoffs for four straight years and fans of the Avalanche can’t watch them because Altitude TV can’t make a deal for three seasons and not for good reason. Greed is the main reason why they can’t make a deal. Comcast and Dish want more money to air  games and it is ridiculous because the real losers are the fans.

In Denver 90% of cable owners are with Comcast and can’t watch their favorite sports teams be successful as the stalemate will probably continue for a few more years. According to Kroenke Sports and Entertainment COO  Matt Hutchings he told Denver 7, “You’re not going to see games unless they come to the table and do a fair deal with us.”

This quote shows where Altitude’s priorities are at. They don’t care about having the fans be able to watch the best sports teams in Colorado, they only care about making a deal with Comcast that is fair and for enough money.

In conclusion, fans of the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche need to demand for a deal to happen before altitude loses their edge as they will lose most of their fans  to streaming services and won’t watch it on cable television. These contract disputes need to be resolved so that Fans can watch the best sports teams in Denver.
