Senior shares ‘red flags’ to avoid this Valentine’s Day season

Valentine’s Day is about celebrating the love that surrounds you. But it’s also about recognizing what kind of love you deserve. Senior Landry Young has this down to a science.

With her carefully crafted rules, dubbed Red Flags List, she includes everything that puts her dating mind on edge. This covers everything from “Owns a Truck” to “Does Magic.”

Some of these red flags are crafted from the people around her, characters in TV shows, and others are chosen carefully just based on personal taste.

Speaking on this, Young said, “I started the red flags list because every time I saw something that a guy did that wasn’t to my liking, I said ‘That’s a red flag!’ and then I decided to make a list.”

The list makes for a fun way of checking off qualities.  “My goal with this list is to keep my standards high.” said Young.

When it comes to guys, the level of datability is dropping dramatically. Having this red flags list has allowed Young to keep her standards at a healthy level to ensure that she isn’t settling for less than she deserves.

However, there is a system to her madness. She expanded, “There actually is a system. There is now a ‘Black Flags List’ that are absolute deal-breakers but the ‘Red Flags List’ are not deal breakers because there’s too many of them. Red flags are just the warning signs,” Young said.

All in all, having a red flags list seems to help keep you on track when it comes to dating, and Landry Young even encourages you to have your own. She said, “I think everyone should have a red flags list so that they know exactly what they’re looking for in their significant other,” admitted Young.

There isn’t any harm in knowing what you deserve when it comes to a relationship… especially this week.
