Greeley West has many classes and clubs to offer for everyone to get involved. It is diverse and really gets into the academic and social parts of the school. One of the classes/programs I think is underlooked or undervalued is SRP which means the Student Recovery Program. There’s many assumptions about it and who is involved but it’s not always accurate and its unfair all the judgment that comes with it are usually negative associated things.
I don’t feel there’s anything wrong with them. They just need slightly more attention in school than others and that’s perfectly fine. In the end it’s their future and they’ll do what they want. But I do think it’s a good thing that it’s brought upon students. Not everyone knows a kid’s background or what they go through and it doesn’t make them any less smarter.
This is like giving them a second chance and sure some kids won’t take advantage of it, but it’s given to them to help them succeed with their peers and not fall anymore behind then they already are. This is a safe space for most kids that have this class and it’s great they have someone they trust. A good portion of kids I met in this program have all told me good things about their teacher.
This program aims to get more high school kids to graduate. It’s like a simple back up plan for those who need it, which is very useful when you think about it. These teachers are great for doing these programs and willing to help students exceed the graduation requirement.
