Greeley West offers many clubs and organizations for the Spartans to get involved and participate in and there are so many different options to fit every student and no one feels left out. A popular one at Greeley West is Link Crew it is for sophomores and juniors and the application process has started for those who would like to join it they have QR codes around the school. The teacher in charge is Ms. Whitney Upshaw and the deadline is also approaching on April 5th.
This is good way to get involved in Greeley West and its a good deed to do for others. Upshaw said, “Link crew is a mentorship program with juniors and seniors who are kind and are willing to help incoming freshman and guide them in welcoming them to the Spartan family.”
Link Crew is a a big help and has specific tasks that are important. “The biggest thing is 9th grade orientation and we are carrying it throughout the school year,” Upshaw said.
Students from around the school get into this club and have many great experiences. Senior Bailey Barrere said, “I loved Link Crew. I didn’t have it when I was a freshman and I think it a great tool to have.”
Barrere said she didn’t have it most seniors as freshmen did have a lot of programs because of covid year and this is a great opportunity for those to help the incoming freshman not feel alone and scared. “Having upperclassmen give you advice and show you around is such an amazing opportunity, especially because new schools can be scary,” Barrere added.
