This Friday, the Weld County School District Track Meet for Special Olympics will be held at Northridge High School from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.. There are 15 students from Greeley West High School’s student council estimated to be there to volunteer, including Student Body President Diana Rowe. They will be helping to set up timing the different events, scheduling to make sure students are where they need to be when they need to be there and passing out awards and ribbons and anything else that might be needed.

Rowe, DiAnnaThe track meet will be an all-day event, so any students with more than one off blocks are encouraged to head over and volunteer as well, since the support is more than welcome.

“I really hope that there will be a lot of kids participating so it will be a lot of fun. I think it’s a great thing that these kids love running as much as I do!” exclaimed Rowe.

This is the latest Special Olympics event to be held here in Weld County since the basketball tournament in January of this year.
