Celebration of seniors ends tomorrow

The year is closing and there is one final event that everyone is waiting for: the senior assembly. Although it’s more of an event to say goodbye to the upperclassmen, everyone gets excited for it.  The assembly will take place tomorrow at the end of the school day.

The freshmen only get to scoot over a few seats, the sophomore’s switch to the cool upperclassmen side, the juniors get the center where they become seniors and the seniors get the floor since they are leaving.

Spring sports are recognized, along with Honor Crest Award winners. And there will be a lengthy video in honor of all seniors made by Angel Maldonado.

Principal Jeff Cranson is not permitting the senior class to run in simply because the mess afterwards is unnecessary. In past years the senior classes have thrown silly string, glitter, balloons, confetti, and beach balls. “I was asked if I was going to allow the same senior stuff this year and the answer is no,” Cranson said.

For the seniors, it’s their last high school “anything” and it is in a way extremely sad. Senior Sandra Tapia stated, “It hasn’t really hit me that I won’t be coming back yet but I feel like when I leave that gym I will maybe, just maybe, cry a little.”

It’s the last time to say goodbye and farewell to the class of 2016.
