Vern Morgan, the new ISS monitor is making an impact in the school through ISS. It is his first year at Greeley West but he is excited to try and change the point of view of school that some students have whether its positive or negative. Morgan seems to be the right fit for the monitor job and acted confident that he will do well.

Ivan Castillo was asked about his experience with Morgan during ISS.  “Mr. Morgan told me at the beginning that he doesn’t want to see me in ISS again, he helped me change the way I act in class and the effort I put into my schoolwork,” Castillo said.

Morgan said his job can be challenging, but it has been rewarding.  “The challenge in my job is to help redirect as much as I can. When students come to me, there has been an eruption, either large or small. The idea is to create some calmness and try and get a person to regroup and try and help them look at the bigger picture and try and step out of what’s happening right away and sit down and let them think to themselves for a little bit. Then I chat with them after they have got themselves together,” Morgan said.
