At the end of June, senior Katie Fromm took part in an all-Colorado art show, sponsored by the Greeley Stampede.

The show’s winner was presented with a $1000 scholarship to any university of their choosing.

Unexpectedly, Fromm was selected out of the many who submitted their work to win this prestigious scholarship. The Stampede also donated an additional $500 to the Greeley West Art Department.

Fromm said she put a lot of time and work into the piece of art that won her the award.  Fromm stated, “I put 35-plus hours into the piece, and to see all the hard work pay off was great.”

Fromm is considered to be one of the top artists in the IB program by her peers. The piece of art she submitted into the contest was her work from her IB art class.
