Every school has a goal of having their students get the best grades possible. Even with that goal, most students don’t care and just want to pass and not get good grades. Schools faced with this problem set up the Honor Roll to reward the best students.

To be on the Honor Roll at West, you must have a 3.0 GPA or higher. Then, Greeley West does a High Honor Roll to reward students with a 3.85 GPA or higher.

West’s way to reward students is an Honors Breakfast. This allows students get a free breakfast one morning . They also get their certificates that say they were on Honor Roll that year. If you’re on the High Honor you get a bigger prize though. When you have a 3.85 or higher you get an academic letter which is the “W” on some people’s letter jackets.  This year, over 400 students were recognized at the breakfast.

Hunter Miller, a sophomore that was rewarded the academic letter, stated, “I worked very hard in a lot of my classes. I had a 4.0 GPA as well. I hope to keep my GPA up and get an academic letter all four years.”

Students were served breakfast burritos, fruit, donuts and bagels.
