Volleyball team loses in straight sets to Broomfield

The Greeley West Volleyball team continues to struggle after losing in three straight sets to the Broomfield Eagles. The Spartans just seem to not be able to play together just yet, even after opening their conference schedule 1-0. This is their second straight loss in straight sets, but the ladies look to bounce back against the Fort Collins Lambkins tomorrow night.

The physical play is there for the Spartans, just not the mindset. Junior Delaynie Mcphee said, “We are going to try to practice harder and communicate better with each other.”

The Spartans are still trying to find their right positions and rotations that work the best for them. But their chemistry still was not there this week and missing a key player Ryan Maddera played a big part of it as well.

The team is filled with seven seniors and each one looks to help lead the team to win more of the upcoming games. The schedule does not get any easier from here for the Spartans and they still have a lot to improve on as the season goes on. The ladies will take a 4-5 record into tomorrow night’s game.
