Tonight at 5:30 is the annual FFA Awards night held in the Greeley West Theater. All FFA members and family members are welcomed to attend.
Awards night is a very special event and ceremony for the Spartans FFA community. This ceremony is a night to recognize all FFA members on their hard work and dedication that they have put throughout their years as a member. This is a night for members to get awarded for the work they have done inside and outside of the classroom. All FFA members are required to dress in FFA attire while guests are asked to wear formal attire.
In preparations for awards night, FFA Advisors prepared all FFA officers to present their speeches to prepare themselves to speak in front of the crowd on awards night. Advisors also worked hard to help prepare all awards to make sure that everything goes smoothly and correctly. “We write a script so that every member that goes up on stage understands what’s being said so that way it runs nice and smoothly,” said FFA advisor Alexandra Grimes.
Not only is this a big night for FFA members, this is a big night for the new FFA officers. With the current officers graduating, FFA needs to prepare and find new officers for the upcoming years. With only a few officers, moving up the line, finding more officers is a crucial part to keep FFA going. The new officers will also be speaking on awards night, this will be their first debut as an official FFA officer. “I’m trying to collect my nerves by speaking in front of a lot of people, but I’m also excited,” FFA officer Jasmine Secrist said.
With new officers coming into FFA, making sure things go smoothly for awards night is very important, including for FFA officers that have done this for a year already. Knowing what their role is on FFA night, it’s important for them to perform/speak their best. “I get to help people get where they need to be and speak for awards night.” said Junior Officers Bradly Rainwater.
