Greeley West students had their first experience with responsive scheduling. Students were able to choose a teacher to visit during Advisory through their Infinite Campus, or a teacher was chosen for them. The purpose is to give students extra help in their classes by being able to speak to specific teachers, like a study hall. 

Considering it is still early in the school year, and this is a new concept, some students were unsure of what class to go to or what was even  going on. Despite the small problems, it was successful, and it is believed that it is going to benefit students from here on out. 

“There was some hiccups on where people were going… but all in all for the first week, good, it went really good,” Mr. Ky Dietz said.

Both students and teachers seem to like this new part of their schedule. It is benefiting students’ grades as well as helping teachers not to have to take away their free time throughout the day. 

Junior Sophie Herold stated, “I went to AP stats with Ms. Martinez because we were doing a review for the test I had the next day. This helped me feel more prepared and I used my time wisely.”

Seniors have been down this road before.  Four years ago, they participated in Homeroom which happened in the middle of the day on Monday.  Senior Eyanna Rojas said Advisory was simliar, but that it felt a lot different. “In freshman year, nobody really took it very seriously,” Rojas explained. “Now they go over the Greeley West updates, we play games and stuff… that just didn’t happen in Homeroom.”
