This year, the Greeley West FFA chapter is putting on a Corn Hole tournament as well as Cow Pie Bingo and a tailgate featuring a cheeseburger at the West vs. Central football game tonight.
Sadly, nobody signed up for the Corn Hole tournament. Mr. Kelly Longacre said. “I hoped it would be the start of a new tradition and would attract other clubs to join in and having sort of a carnival like last year when we had the face paint and dunk tank for Cranson.”
On the other hand this is the 4th year that FFA is puting on Cow Pie Bingo. Cow Pie Bingo is an event during halftime where FFA releases a cow into a fenced area with a tarp that has a grid with numbers taped onto it. Finally, they release a cow and whatever square on the grid the cow poos on gets 25% of the money rased. Each spot costs $10 and if they sell all the winner gets $250.
Another tradition FFA puts on is the tailgate meal sale. The sale includes a hot dog or a hamburger, a bag of chips, and a drink.
These two things are a tradition at West that have been going on for years.
Kelly Longacre hopes to create new traditions that follow through next year. Traditions is part of the reason West vs. Central game is so big.
