Now that multiple weeks have passed for students in their Aims classes, they have had a decent look at what the rest of the year is going to look like in that class.
Zavier Montelongo, a junior said, “I am enjoying my Intro to Health and Wellness class so far, even though it is a bit slow-paced. This is my first Aims class, and I plan to continue through the program next year. This class has helped improve my note-taking skills and helped me stay focused in class.”
Senior Aims student, Michael Garcia, is taking his second year of “Mechanical and Blueprints”, and so far he enjoys learning how to build and read blueprints. It will help him in college as he plans on getting a degree in architectural engineering.
Finally, Alexander Martinez is in a “Medical Preparation” class at Aims. He is a senior, and this is his first class at Aims.
“Currently, in Med Prep, we are learning about medical terminology and what the terms mean. In the future, I want to be a certified nursing assistant, and this class is the first step to becoming a nurse for me, so when I work in a clinic, I will have that experience to be ready.”
“I enjoy this class a lot, even though right now it is a bit slow, but later we are going to start working on manikins and learning those skills.”
“This class has helped me a lot with my time management skills, because you have to arrive at 8:45 or else I could get kicked out if I’m late. So, in high school, I arrive on time more consistently because I don’t want to build that habit of showing up late.”
All these students agree that students should take Aims classes if they are interested in them at all.
