This coming week, Greeley West High School will be celebrating Valentine’s Day through Spread the Love Spirit Week to prove love does not purely reside in flowers, chocolates, or gifts. Instead, love is in all unexpected places. That made us think… where is your love?
For senior Zeke Estrada love is not a person or or an object, but a place. He proved distance is nothing but a set of numbers when he said, “My love is in Europe.”
Estrada explained his love grew as part of the school trip to France, Spain, Switzerland, Italy and Monaco last year. “Monoaco was full of rich people and yachts and that’s the life I want to live one day,” Estrada explained.
Senior David Crandall kept it close to home and to the heart, finding love in his basement playing video games. “My love lives in 2K,” where “my grind never stops.” We’ll just leave him to his simulations.
Senior Isiah Montoya, has an everlasting love for Drake Maye. He would have to have the last two football games he played – especially after a tough loss in the Super Bowl over the weekend. This reminds everyone that love remains powerful through both wins and losses.
Keeping things real, Senior Daymeon Harris probably should have kept his love to himself. However, he admitted to his love being “feet”. This answer shows if just a few painted toes can steal someone’s heart, just about anything can.
On a more meaningful note, Senior STUCO member Madilyn Varney shared that her love, “is in the Spirit Week itself, because it gives people the chance to celebrate who they are with their friends.”
Whether your love is in something serious, funny, or anywhere in between, Greeley West is giving a great opportunity to show that love is truly everywhere. All students are encouraged to participate in this week’s Spirit Week and spread their love.
