For dates many said they are taking their girlfriends out to eat. Some said a nice restaurant, others said something simple like pho or a picnic or going to a basketball game. Most of them just want to make their girlfriend feel special.
Girls expected flowers right away They also mentioned teddy bears chocolates and candy. Some said they don’t expect a lot just something thoughtful. It seems like flowers are the main thing girls expect Even if they say they don’t want much flowers are kind of the standard.
Some boys joked that if they don’t get anything, they’ll be in the doghouse. Or they seem like they dont got the money for Valentines seeming “broke” That shows there is some pressure. In high school, Valentine’s Day can feel like a big deal. People want to post pictures look cute and show that their partner put in effort.
Adults in the building said they don’t really do big gifts anymore. One couple is going to get pedicures together. Another husband said he would clean the kitchen and cook dinner for his wife. One talked about maybe getting an orchid plant instead of regular flowers. Adults care about more quality time
Most of them said Valentine’s Day is about spending time together. They care more about being together than buying big gifts. High school couples focus more on gifts and surprises. Flowers and candy are very important. There is more pressure to make it look special.
