Greeley West students and staff have Spring Break this coming week, and they’re all spending it in different ways.
Junior Andreas Skjevling-Botn, who is an exchange student from Norway, is going on a trip to Puerto Rico during break. He explained that he is going with his host dad, his host brother who is a fellow exchange student, and his host brother’s sister. For a week he’s going to see all the sights, “We’re going to go to the beach, to the rainforest, and it will give me time to rest too since we’re leaving so early.” He stated. Skjevling-Botn is most excited to see the rainforest, he stated, “I’ve never seen one before, or any of the animals that live there.”
Some students are planning to do the opposite over their breaks, some are looking forward to playing video games, sleeping in, hanging out with their friends and more.
Breydan Robledo, who is also a junior, adamantly stated, “I’m going to play on my cinco…my PS5, all break.”
Reymundo Ocampo-Flores is spending his break in more of an academic format. He is a senior, and is using this break to his advantage to continue to explore the college that he hopes to attend this next semester, the University of Denver. He stated, “It’ll be exciting to get a sneak peek into that college life, what’s in store for me, what the campus looks like, and being able to meet the teacher and faculty that’ll become the cornerstone of my education for the next 4 years.” He is super excited to be able to do this, in fact it’ll be another one of many visits.
Sahlia Gaspar is also planning to have a more laid back break, spending her time sleeping, and with her friends. “I’m going to celebrate my friend Angie’s birthday, we’re planning on going to the lake, and just spend some time together.”
