Greeley West High School students are heading into a much needed four-day weekend, and you can definitely feel the relief as you walk through the halls. After weeks of busy schedules, testing season, and activities students are ready to recharge their body in their own personal ways.
For senior Jade Ludwig, the long weekend won’t exactly be a break, but she is looking forward to it anyway. “I’m helping my cousin move out, so I’ll be busy,” she said, laughing. Even though it is work, Ludwig will also get to spend time with family and get a change of scenery from school.
Senior Kaitlee Marshall has more of a simple yet energetic plan for herself. Instead of slowing down a bit, she is heading to a league track meet. “I plan on going to the meet to support my friends,” she shared. It highlights student-athletes, showing their motivation to keep going even when classes are done for the week.
Meanwhile, sophomore Nadia Serrano is taking a completely different route to her weekend. After wrapping up her soccer season, she is prioritizing as much rest she can get. “I’m just going to sleep and a whole lot of nothing,” she said. With the season ending, Serrano also admitted, “As I reflect on my season over the weekend, I might get a little emotional again, it is weird knowing the seniors are leaving.”
Senior Elizabeth Chihuahua is using the break to finally find a balance in her busy schedule. “I’m going to spend time with my family and catch up on work I have had no time for.” Between school, sports, and everyday life, these extra days off are a perfect opportunity to stop procrastinating.
Whether it is staying busy, supporting friends, or relaxing. Greeley West students are making the most of their weekend.
