Greeley West High School will celebrate the achievement and dedication of students at its annual CTE Awards Night tonight, honoring students who have completed career pathways and earned distinction awards for their hard work. The event will highlight seniors and selected students who are completing programs such as P-TECH, High School of Business (HSB), Floriculture, etc.
Among the students to be honored, a notable one is senior Alana Hill, who will receive an HSB Cord after completing every course in the pathway since her freshman year. Reflecting on her experience, Hill shared, “Taking all of these classes has taught me valuable business skills that I know I will use in the future.”
Her dedication has paid off in many ways, as she also was ranked as a top ten finisher on the nationwide business assessments. Hill’s success represents what effort and passion will do throughout high school.
Junior Ulises Sanchez will also be recognized, proving that achievement in CTE programs is not limited to seniors. As a Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) state qualifier and active HSB student, Sanchez has already made a name for himself. “Ive learned how to think on the spot and handle challenges,” he said.
Senior Emmanuel Silva Rodelo will be honored for completing the P-TECH pathway, which prepares students for careers in the technical fields. Silva Rodelo noted, “I’ve learned real-life skills that I can take into my future,” especially as he plans to pursue a career in construction.
CTE Awards Night not only celebrates accomplishments but also shows the variety of hands-on learning Greeley West provides. As students step into their futures, these pathways have prepared them with the tools to succeed after high school.
