Greeley West graduate Kaitlyn Fenton from Greeley FFA and District 17 was introduced as the State Sentinel for Colorado FFA.
Fenton graduated from West in May of 2025 and was set on running hurdles at Dodge City Community College, and majoring in Ag Production along with Farm and Ranch Management.
Now, Fenton, as the Sentinel for the 2025-2026 term, will focus on her FFA job. Fenton’s duties involve helping maintain order, being a leader, being welcoming, and more. Fenton has many accomplishments, and she makes it known that she is always thankful.
”I cannot wait to meet all of you and serve this incredible organization. Thank you for this opportunity- let’s make this year one to remember!” Fenton said in in her Colorado FFA profile.
To achieve the position Fenton is in now, she had to get involved early in the Greeley FFA program, attending FFA events even when she was only a freshman. Including attending events, she would visit petting zoos, volunteer at events, or attend chapter meetings that motivated Fenton to apply for a chapter officer position.
All in all, this led her throughout her high school career to be able to serve on the Greeley West officer team. Fenton also credits her success to her other extracurriculars, Track and Volleyball,” Sports are a large part of who I am and still are, being a captain on both the Track and Volleyball team helped me become a leader and taught me grit.”
Fenton put in a remarkable amount of effort in making her FFA career, being involved academically with IB, AP classes, and concurrent enrollment, and also while being involved in clubs like NHS. Fenton’s prep to represent Greeley FFA as a state officer candidate began in the middle of April where she reflected to find her drive for FFA. “I did alot of self reflection to try and find my why and what drives me to do what I do, then I began practicing with mock interviews and engaged in good conversations with mentors on why I wanted to run for state office,” Fenton said.
