Greeley West students spent their Spring Break in many different ways, some expected, and some that would come as a surprise.
Junior Zuri Urtuzuastegui-Venegas had a relaxing break compared to some other students. She spent time with family and friends. “My sister came to visit, we went shopping and my family came over for dinner,” Urtuzuastegui-Venegas said
With her sister, she got a whole new summer wardrobe which she was super excited about. “I also went to a bonfire with my friends which was like a preview of summer,” Urtuzuastegui-Venegas added.
She explained that at the bonfire they ate snacks and had good conversations with her close friends, and even some new people that she’s never met.
Senior David Crandall traveled with his family around Europe. He went to Amsterdam, and Brussels, which was super fun for him and his family. He flew out the day Spring Break started, so he got to spend a lot of time with his family. Traveling isn’t new to him, but he always enjoys it as if it was. “My favorite part of the trip was getting to see my little brother and spend time with him.”
A part of the break that stood out to junior Abilenne Ortegon was her attempt at getting a summer job with her internship. “I applied at the Mexican restaurant Cancun, and got an on the spot interview. She loved me, and was super interested in me, but had already hired other people. She’s saving me for later, as an emergency, but I’m pretty sure I got the job,” Ortegon said.
Ortegon also ended up rearranging her room, which she has been wanting to do for a while. “I didn’t think that it was going to be as messy as it was, but I’m glad that I did it,” Oretegon said.
Sophomore Alonso Casas Servin spent time with his family up in the mountains in Glenwood Springs, which is a completely different scenery from what he is used to. He enjoyed spending time with his family, but not where they were. “It was snowing a little bit when we first got there, but it got nice outside, so we went to the Hot Springs. One of the main things that I remember about the trip was the food, it was so bad,” he explained.
