Greeley West High School students prepared to represent at the FBLA State Leadership Conference, which started Thursday and will end Saturday at the Gaylord Rockies Resort. This event brings together students from across the state to compete in a wide range of business-related events.
Junior Bryan Corral is a part of those students across the state who are competing in real estate. Corral states, “I have spent the past month preparing and devoting at least three hours each week to study key concepts covered on the exam.” His preparation reflects his discipline on his path to achieving his long-term goals of taking the real estate exam at 18.
While Corral is looking forward to competing, he expressed excitement by stating, “I am ready for the overall experience even though I have to miss one day to compete in a track meet.” Despite his trip getting cut one day short, this competition will help him improve for next year.
Junior Kairo Ibarra will also represent Greeley West, competing in human resource management. Ibarra said, “I have mainly prepared myself by studying through the FBLA website and reviewing event materials.” While he is serious about the competition and hopes he does well, he is also looking forward to experiencing the Gaylord. “I’m most excited about playing pickleball,” Ibarra said.
Beyond the activities, Ibarra hopes to gain insight into his strengths and weaknesses. “I want to see what parts of human resources I need to improve for next year,” he said.
These students qualified for state at the local competition at UNC in February and have been working ever since to expand their knowledge and are ready to take on what’s next.
